Don’t let the title of this post deceive you– I am nowhere near mastering Mahjong yet (but I am trying)! A group of friends decided we wanted to learn, so we hired an instructor to teach us the intricacies of this ancient Chinese tile game. At first, Mahjong was a little confusing, and it took us all a few lessons to catch on, but after many hands, lots of questions, and endless laughs, we began to enjoy ourselves. The American Mahjong tiles are more accessible to learn since they are numbered, so I recommend using them when starting. Our instructor came with some custom-colored sets in shades of blue, pink, and purple, which are gorgeous (see photos below). I am definitely asking Santa for a set!
