Keepsake Creator: Jeweler Aurelia Demark

Last spring break, my friend Sarah and I took our respective kids to Florida for a quick getaway. As we sat on the beach enjoying the sun and margaritas, I admired her gold link bracelet and learned that her sister-in-law, Aurelia Demark, was a jewelry designer (a jeweler in the family? Jealous!).

After checking out the collection (a design collaboration between Aurelia and her mother), I was immediately drawn to the boy and girl portrait pendants. My great-grandmother kept a charm bracelet with gold silhouettes of all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each engraved with their birthdates. I remember climbing up into her lap and examining each golden figure, trying to guess the person it represented. This is the kind of sentimentality that I love seeing in special jewelry pieces. Items that transcend the trends and stand the test of time. How amazing would it be to have a modern-day version of my Nana’s creation?

In addition to the portrait pendants, Aurelia also has a Zodiac collection,  with 12 uniquely crafted representations of each sign. When I saw that she created such personal pieces, I knew I had to have one for myself. After all, the website describes her design aesthetic to be a bit “whimsical”. My mother, sister and I are all Leos and we love celebrating our inner lioness, so naturally, I chose the small Leo pendant. With my birthday right around the corner, I have hinted to my husband that I may need one of Aurelia’s chainlink necklaces to go with my charm!

Each pendant, necklace, bracelet, and earring is crafted in 18 karat gold, precious stones, and engraved details (can you say monogram?). Take a look for yourself and visit AureliaDemark.com and help support a female-owned business that celebrates “life’s greatest, most personal moments!”

Loving Lately...

While I love cashmere during the winter, I am happy to shed the bulky knits when spring rolls around. Enter the cotton sweater—lightweight for the warmer days but substantial enough for a chilly morning. Take a look at some chic cotton sweaters, some fitted, some slouchy, and some with a little leopard, and one at every price point. https://whitandwhimsyblog.com/splurge-or-save-cotton-sweaters-2/

This post was inspired by the latest AppleTV show, Palm Royale. I have been anxiously awaiting the March 20th premiere date ever since I saw a trailer weeks ago (they had me at Kristen Wiig). This Apple TV show is set in 1969 Palm Beach, the era of Pucci prints, baby pink lipstick, and long, flowy kaftans. And who can resist the ensemble cast, lush setting, and, did I mention Kristen Wiig?... https://whitandwhimsyblog.com/friday-faves-palm-royale/
