It’s time for the obligatory summer sunblock post! Months filled with sunshine mean sunscreen every day (no matter what) and each season I like to update my stock. I feel like what constitutes “safe SPF” is always evolving, so I try to stay on top of the latest findings. But, everyone’s concerns and beliefs are different, so it’s important to get a sunscreen that works best for you. The Environmental Working Group website is a great resource- you can search up the brand of SPF and it gives you a detailed rating based on multiple factors. Below are the ten best sunscreens that I could find that are safe for me, meaning they are mineral-based, Oxybenzone, and Octinoxate free, made without fragrance, parabens, or phthalates, and silicone. All ten score a 2 or below on the EWG toxicity scale, which is optimal.
