Today’s post is all about the makeup brush. How many do you need? How are they used? There are so many brands, types, and price points, it can be confusing and possibly overwhelming when trying to decide on a purchase (see chart below). I used to think that my one fluffy brush was all I needed, using it to blend tinted moisturizer, work in bronzer, and apply blush (and I was washing it all the time ugh). So, I purchased this Precise Powder brush from elf cosmetics and started looking into buying some more. I didn’t go crazy (at first), just purchasing one eyeshadow blending brush and a lip brush. Only buy brushes that fit with your makeup routine (and sometimes your own fingers do the trick). When I found a foundation that I liked, I did splurge on the Artis brush that is known for great blending (and it works wonders at smoothing out brush strokes). I have picked some great options below, for the beginner (try this set) or the adventurous (try this set). I included those for the budget-conscious and some for those looking to try a bougie alternative. The brands I focused on are ones that I own and have tried, except for the new Westman Atelier brushes that I am still contemplating. They are so well-reviewed but a bit pricey, so I may wait for the next Sephora sale! I also included some brush cleaners, don’t forget to wash frequently.
