So this post started out as a comparison of a few popular foundations. I gathered up all of the ones I owned, noting likes and dislikes for each one. I had listed about 10 different brands when I heard a few Youtube reviewers rave about Armani foundations. So, while in Sephora the other day, I decided to purchase one and see for myself (all in the name of research, of course). As soon as I tried it I knew that I had to revise this post completely, focusing on the best one of the bunch. The Giorgio Armani Maestro Fusion Foundation is worth all the hype. Before I go on about this product, let me take a step back and redefine “foundation” (I used to think it was for older women who liked to pile on the makeup, covering up every pore and pimple.) I prefer Wikipedia’s explanation as “a tinted makeup applied to the face to create an even, uniform color to the complexion, to cover flaws and, sometimes, to change the natural skin tone.” I can handle that! Now back to the Armani Maestro– first of all, it feels like silk on your face. No cakey, thick mess. Secondly, it covers my red spots, smooths texture and leaves a little glow to the skin. Bingo! The frosted glass bottle comes with a dropper to dispense the liquidy foundation, which makes it so easy to smooth over your face. To apply I usually just use my fingers or a Beauty Blender. However, last spring I splurged for an Artis brush and love how it blends and spreads product evenly. Since I have tried so many, I included some honorable mentions below. Know that I am clearing out the makeup drawer (yet again) and keeping only one Perfect Product, the Armani!
