Safer Sunblock

Recently, I switched to an all mineral sunscreen routine. Since chemical sunblocks are under new scrutinies, (with ingredients like avobenzone & oxybenzone), I am sticking with what works for me: zinc oxide & titanium dioxide, two elements found in most mineral sunscreens. These heavy hitters block both UVA and UVB rays and provide a shield on the skin instead of chemical screens that absorb the damaging rays. Of course, every choice is personal, so I encourage you to check your sunscreen brand on the EWG website (Environmental Working Group), which rates most brands out there. They list a full ingredient breakdown and will rank each one based on safety factors. Take a look at these top choices for face SPF and decide for yourself. Here’s to sunny days ahead! [Repost]
