Each summer the neighboring town of Rowayton, hosts an always anticipated theatrical event called Shakespeare on the Sound. This outdoor presentation of a Shakespeare play is always a highlight for us each June. On blankets spread out on the grass surrounding the stage, we enjoy eating an extensive picnic dinner complete with apps, fried chicken, cocktails, and of course, ice cream. Over the years we have perfected this outdoor event experience, adding specific equipment (tables and coolers) and supplies that keep us comfy under the stars (fleeces and chairs). Whether you are headed to a local park or to the beach for a bonfire, these items will be sure to create a perfect picnic experience.
