Grateful Gift

· ideas for the summer hostess ·

It’s officially summer and I am ready for a new season, new routines, and a new state of mind! Unlike in 2020, we will be fully vaccinated and heading out to socialize and visit extended family. Perhaps you will get an invitation to a friend’s beach house, a neighbor’s backyard bbq, or a relaxing afternoon ride on the boss’s boat? When that long-awaited social occasion arises, you will need an appropriate hostess gift to bring along. A bottle of wine is always a safe bet but it is not very personal. A friend of mine started her own candle company called Harbour and I am obsessed with the gardenia scented Louise one. Everyone likes candles as gifts, especially when you are supporting a small business. These 100% soy candles come in so many intoxicating scents (think citrus, floral, woodsy) and all are paraffin and phthalate-free! And with a price point of $29, you can stock up and have a few ready to go when the last-minute invite comes in. But, I’m warning you, buy extra because once you open the box of Harbour candles, you will not want to give them away. Decided to keep it for yourself? No worries, I have done some digging online and have found some even more befitting items to celebrate the most discerning hostesses. There are gifts for the foodie, game player, entertainer, and even the kids. I also included some chic stationery for the thank you note to secure your invite next year.
