I love to give and get books as gifts. There is nothing better than choosing that perfect book for a friend, sibling, or child. If you cannot support your local bookstore (Barrett Bookstore in my town) then Amazon is the easiest way to browse and buy for your entire Christmas list. I have compiled a bunch here that I think is best for the people in my life. For my dad I chose The Real All Americans about the origin of football: “It is an inspiring reminder of the extraordinary things that can be achieved when we set aside our differences and embrace a common purpose.” For my mother who loves a good mystery (and is a fierce knitter) I am going with the first installment in Maggie Sefton’s newest mystery series, Knit One, Kill Two. My sister is in the middle of a home renovation so she will be receiving Black & White by Celery Kemble to help her with the décor decisions. She is also a superb cook, so she may also get Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia Table. For my teenage daughter (obsessed with the iPhone camera) I chose Read This If You Want To Take Great Photographs and Sawkill Girls, a new YA release. My youngest son will be getting Harry Potter, 5,000 Awesome Facts, and For Boys Only. I have a good friend Kristina who will be traveling to Turks & Caicos this winter break, so she is getting Surprise Me for some good beach reading. My husband will get Calypso by David Sedaris, my nieces will have Make Way for Ducklings and Circus Ship to open up, and my book club neighbor will receive Tequila Mockingbird. Of course, I had to throw a book into the Amazon cart for myself: One Day in December. I plan on curling up this Christmas and reading this heartwarming story that centers around fate, love, and Christmas time–Happy holiday reading!
