I will admit that I was nervous to try my first face oil. I thought it would be greasy, make me break out and cause overall havoc with my skin. But I was so wrong– adding face oil into my routine was a game changer. I used to complain of dry, dull skin, blaming my age for my complexion. Now, my skin feels alive again and I owe it all to my various face oils (yes, I own many because I am a little crazy). I have one for the morning, one for nighttime, one for cold winters and one for the humid summer months. Each one moisturizes and treats in a different, yet effective way. My most recent purchase is the Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Face Oil, which I am using for the first time (I love my Drunk Elephant C-Firma Vitamin C Serum). If you have not tried a face oil yet, now is the time, as we head into the long dry winter. Above is a selection of the best face oils I have come across, either personally or by expert recommendation. I tried to include a variety here– for aging skin, for dry skin, and for redness or hyperpigmentation. For dehydrated skin, try the Sunday Riley Juno, Fresh Seaberry, Tata Harper, Huxley or Indie Lee. For complexion issues like redness, try the Herbivore Lapiz, Pai or the Acure. If you want to combat the signs of aging, the Elemis and Clarins might interest you. These oils are all packed with plant extracts, vitamins and antioxidants to help nourish and counteract the signs of aging. Prices range is $12-$70, so there is also one for every budget. Check these out and choose the one that fits your personal skin needs.
