The cold, rainy weekend in CT had me dreaming of a warm, comforting dessert. When I found this simple crockpot recipe for a chocolate lava cake, I had to try it. We always have vanilla ice cream on hand, so I just had to run to the store quickly for the other gooey ingredients. Is your mouth watering too?
Crocpot Chocolate Lava Cake
Ingredients
Cake Ingredients
- 1 box Super Moist Chocolate Fudge Cake mix Betty Crocker works well
- 1¼ cup Milk
- ½ cup Vegetable oil
- 3 Eggs
Lava & Topping Ingredients
- 2 cups Milk
- 1 4 oz box Instant chocolate pudding mix
- 1 12 oz bag Milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Beat together cake mix, oil, eggs, and milk with an electric mixer for a few minutes until batter is smooth.
- Spray crockpot with nonstick spray so the cake won’t stick.
- Pour cake mixture into the crockpot and smooth it over the bottom.
- In a mixing bowl, beat together the 2 cups milk and pudding mix. Then pour into the crockpot and do not stir!
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top and do not stir!
- Cover and cook on high for 2.5 hours
- Serve with vanilla ice cream.
