My drink of choice is either a chilled glass of Pinot grigio or an extra, extra dirty vodka martini. However, after seeing some yummy seasonal cocktails on Instagram and other blogs, I decided to join the party and try something totally new: a salted caramel martini made with apple cider and vodka. I found this martini on the blog Home & Plate. I follow Ali because her tag line is “fresh and simple recipes” and you know simple is what I look for (see my Easy Eats recipes here). My finished product was nowhere near this pretty, but it was super tasty (this photo is from Pinterest). These cocktails would be perfect served in stemless martini glasses by the outdoor firepit. Add a blanket and get cozy with some salted caramel martinis and socially distant girlfriends– Cheers!
Salted Caramel Martini
Ingredients
- 2 ounces caramel infused vodka
- 3 ounces fresh apple cider
- Salted caramel dessert topping
- Kosher salt
- optional, one apple
Instructions
1. Fill each martini glass with cold water and ice cubes. Spoon enough caramel topping onto one plate to rim your martini glasses. Add enough kosher salt to another.
2. Dump the ice water from each martini glass and drizzle the inside of each glass with caramel sauce. Coat the rim of each martini glass into the caramel and then lightly into the kosher salt.
3. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and mix together the cider and vodka by shaking well. Pour the cocktail into each glass and serve.
4. Option to garnish with an apple slice
Notes
I found this yummy recipe on Ali Randall's blog Home & Plate, she is a great resource for all things food and drink!
