Hurricane Henri is coming tomorrow and we are getting ready! We have board games, puzzles and of course some books to read for when we are bored inside. In case you have time to head out to the bookstore today or hit the library, I have compiled one last batch of books that are sure to entertain.
If you recognize the last name of a book below, it’s a shameless plug for my brother-in-law’s first stab at fiction. After three decades as a newspaper columnist and editor, my husband’s brother Stuart wrote a book! The Covid Chronicles “examines political partisanship and pandemic fatigue, probing the question of whether America returning to normal is as appealing as it seems.” It’s no surprise that Stu’s debut novel is excellent–he is such a good writer. Stock up on some page-turners before the lights go out!
How do I find these titles to recommend to you? I read a lot, but I also refer to trusted book reviews on Goodreads, the NY Times, and Kirkus. I belong to a book club with opinionated readers, and I live next door to a local bookstore insider who lends me advance copies! Basically, I do the legwork so you don’t have to. For more titles, browse previous Book Blast posts or visit my Amazon store. Keep reading!
