Well, I am bored and I am sure that I am not alone. This Coronavirus social distancing is starting to wear me down. I have completed over 6 puzzles already, cleaned out the attic, revamped my medicine cabinet and have baked more than 6 dozen cookies. Since our local library is closed, I am turning to my own book shelf for some new reads (and I will text Tatum, my neighbor, to leave some new ones on her doorstep for me too, read her guest post here). Most libraries, including our own here in Darien, offer electronic borrowing– thank goodness. Ours uses the Libby, by OverDrive app for easy downloading. Of course, Audible, Apple Books, & Hoopla all offer audio versions too.  First up is one I have been holding on to for our spring break trip, which won’t be happening now. In January I was lucky enough to attend a lunch hosted by our local bookshop, Barrett Bookstore, featuring the triple authors of All the Ways We Said Goodbye. Beatriz Williams and Lauren Willig spoke to us about the process in which the two of them, along with then absent Karen White, approached writing a book together. We all received copies of the novel and I have been eyeing it on my shelf ever since. No time like the present! I also compiled a list of new books that I am hoping to read or listen to while stuck at home with the kids. Hopefully, you will want to check them out as well, electronically of course. Let me know what books you will be reading in the comments.

How do I find these titles to recommend to you? I read a lot, but I also refer to trusted book reviews on Goodreads, the NY Times, and Kirkus. I belong to a book club with opinionated readers, and I live next door to a local bookstore insider who lends me advance copies! Basically, I do the legwork so you don’t have to. For more titles, browse previous Book Blast posts or visit my Amazon store. Keep reading!
