Back to Bloomies

· revisiting the classic retailer ·

As a teenager growing up in New Jersey, a trip to New York City was always exciting, especially when your destination was one of the big department stores. Bloomingdales was usually one of the iconic flagship destinations on our list and it was a BIG deal back in the 80s. I loved my big brown bag and any goodies I was lucky enough to purchase. However, during my 20s when I lived in Manhattan, Bloomies dropped off my radar (maybe because I worked for the uber-catalog J.Crew). Recently, a new state-of-the-art mall opened up in a neighboring town, complete with a Nordstrom (an all-time fave) and a Bloomingdales! Looking to re-purchase my holy grail under eye corrector from Clé de Peau, I found myself braving Covid to check out the massive beauty department (the makeup and skincare lured me in and had some fun looking around.) The Designer brand list is extensive and there are even more high-end retailers available only in-store (think Dior, Gucci, and Prada). Take a look at some goodies I found while browsing, like this stunning Anine Bing houndstooth blazer on sale!
