I gave “An Anonymous Girl” 4/5 stars on Goodreads. This book is right in my wheelhouse with equal parts thriller, mystery, and suspense! Right from the beginning, you are sucked into this plot, just like the main character Jess is pulled into a tempting situation. In need of money, Jess signs up to be a paid participant in a psychiatrist’s study. What she thought would be an easy way to make a quick buck turns into a sinister experiment in trust, temptation and jealousy. When the mysterious Dr. Shields asks questions such as “Should a punishment always fit the crime?”, Jess is forced to examine her true feelings and deepest secrets. This was a quick read, equally creepy and suspenseful but not completely predictable. What happens to subject 52? Read it to find out!
